Although the Ombre trend has kind of plateaued, it has not gone away. Nor do we see it being a passe style anytime soon. Especially with spring right around the corner there are going to be all kind of color blossoming everywhere we look. With blonde as an obvious staple, balayge is taking the stage front and center.
Everything is going to be all about balayage (painted) highlights used alone to achieve soft warm and ultra natural looking tones or together with other colors for lots of dimension. (Jennifer Aniston is never a bad reference nor is Meg Ryan).
There’s also going to be a lot of really great structural experimentation using a variety of techniques mixed together; Traditional foil highlights and lowlights mixed in with balayage painted ribbons of brightness as well at Flamboyage Meche lightening to achieve contrast and complimentary tones and shades.
And more BLONDE BLONDE BLONDE. In every shade from soft blush, rose gold and platinum to more stark grays and cool lilacs.
The trend of long lasting, funtional hair color will continue though 2014. Even though we are looking to go brighter and bolder, longevity is still a primary function of hair, so although it may not be Ombre hair color per se, the most sought after looks are still a little rooty (ala S.J.P. and Jessica Biel) and not super structured. Naturally, these variations on color are meant to be low-key, easy going and a total cinch to style.
Hair cuts and styles are all over the map but powering into a fashionable new year, if yer not keeping long loose layers than every new stylish length is at or above the shoulders.

Bobs of all shapes curly, wavy or straight. Pixies and BANGS… The shorter the better.
And, of course, there will be absolutely no shortage of super cool and totally bold statement colors like these. We look forward to all of the exciting color and style changes coming in the next couple of months. We all need a lift after this nasty cold spell. See you soon!
